Dragon Sculpture Workshop

This event has long been over, but I wanted to highlight it here anyway. Back last year in 2024 I hosted a dragon sculpture workshop for the Mt Tamborine Arts Trail hosted by TMAC: the Tamborine Mountain Arts Association.

The sculptures were made in plasticine and were busts of the head and neck. My idea for this workshop was to teach technique for sculpting practice/concept busts, using wire and foil to create the core structure and distributing the weight properly for a stable form.

Kids and adults alike had a great time with it! And I personally loved to see the individual creativity everyone had for their dragons.

I put together a video showcasing my own progress in making the prototype/example piece for this workshop!

Unfortunately I couldn't make it to be part of this years Arts Trail, as I was busy with other work and prepping for artist alleys around the same time, but I would love to be a part of it all again in the future. I really enjoyed my time being hosted by The Grand Chameleon venue alongside other local artists!
